On Wednesday the 22th, the U15 Squad played Diilworth school. Afyter facing the Haka, the team was very pumped up and rearing to go. In the first few minutes, there was great intensity between rthe two sides, however after some strong maulinmg, Dilworth managed to scorew convering the try. After several minutes of intense play, Dilworth managed to break through our back-line making the score 12-0. Then Whitgift fought back hard and scored through a skilful little grubber from Matt Clark. 'Rumble' Rory slid in and touched the ball down to score! Mathew Clark unfortunately missed the conversion from the touchline, however Whitgift were ready to hit back. Whitgift then tackled fiercly and stole the ball by some nice counter rucking, which consequently led onto another try, thanks to the forwards and Rob. Mathew Clark converted to make the score 12-10.
In the second half Whitgift were awarded a penalty for offside and Mathew Clark converted. Whitgift were now in the lead and in the ascendancy. Short after Charles Gutteridge and Mathew Clark again converting. After a scrum and a number 8 pickup and some skillful running by Chris Campblel Whitgift scored again! George Smith conveted a hard tick from the touchline. Dilworth mangaged to score again before the end of the match. However we won 29-19, a great start to the tour.
