Day 5

Day 5 and we woke up to the same smell as we went to bed with!!! After a fantastic night at the Maori village and what was probably the coach journey of the tour so far back to the hotel, we awoke to a trip to the Polynesian Spa and a warm revitalising soak in the baths overlooking the lake. The party then loaded the coaches and in good spirits headed for Taupo for lunch. After a hearty lunch we continued through some fantastic scenery although the majority of the party were inspecting the inside of their eyelids instead of seeing the mountains, plains and gorges of Hawkes Bay. After 4hrs we arrived in Hasting at Lindisfarne College where we were met by some old friends from Whitgift and our 15 year association with the college. Indeed we are going to welcome them to South Croydon in only a few months. (Any parents reading this your help would be appreciated.). Arriving in the rain both squads trained for an hour and a half before the boys dispersed with their billets. A good day and match 2 tomorrow. Fingers crossed.
